Mission Statement
Our ministry is
focused on reaching the people in the small
mountainous village of Rock River, Jamaica with
the life
changing word of Jesus
Isaiah 6:8:
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom
shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
GOD
called a special man from Jamaica to be a pastor in a
small town called Rock River which is 2 hours inland
from Kingston. His name is Pastor Milton Bailey. He is
the pastor of the Rock River circuit of Baptist churches
(5 in total) and he has a passionate desire to improve
lives of those in Rock River. Chestnut Mt. Church (CMC)
in Flowery Branch, GA partnered with Pastor Bailey in
1998 and has been sending mission teams there ever
since. Mission team members serve locally and in Rock
River and understand the importance of local and foreign
missions. We send teams to Rock River on an annual
basis to conduct Vacation Bible School and nightly
crusades. We have also participated in leading sports
ministries; prayer walks, door-to-door evangelism, and
organized and lead youth and adult small groups
from 4 of the 5 of the churches. Support from our
church members and the community have enabled us to help
start a library, buy an orange orchard and help start a
bag juice production business. Poverty and poor
education is a problem of great concern and money from
the bag juice business and the library helps provide a
small amount of work and money to buy school supplies/
uniforms for the children; helps a local food pantry and
helps pay for funeral expenses.
We
believe it is important to take care of those in our own
community, but we also believe in sharing with the less
fortunate all over the world. They do not have the
resources like we have here in the US. Even if we are
only making minimum wage, we are rich in comparison to
the rest of the world.
Our GOD
commands us as followers of Christ to share his love and
blessings. We believe that sharing the good news of
salvation is crucial to fulfilling the great commission
as commanded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We
believe that serving and loving one another brings
praise to our Heavenly Father. We would love for you to
partner with us for this great mission by praying for
our teams and the people of Jamaica.
